Designed by Frederick Scott and launched in 1979. In 1991 the International Federation of Architects voted the Supporto chair “the chair that most influenced modern office seating”. The main back and seat structure is die-cast aluminium. Original grey fabric on polished aluminium frame. These chairs have height adjustability and the backrest tilts.
Formerly used in the Shepherd’s Bush, London head office of Stella McCartney, acclaimed fashion designer. Stella campaigns against the use of animal leather and so she ordered these chairs with grey fabric instead of the usual leather.
These are in raw unrefurbished condition in 3 slight model variations related to back tilt.
- Most require replacement gas cylinders.
- All require repolishing.
- Priced to sell to a refurbisher.
Can be professionally reupholstered with a sustainable fabric if required for an additional cost - noting that, out of respect for Stella, this will not be done in animal hide.
